a. USCIS Continues to Improve Access to Immigration Services

USCIS is launching “USCIS to You,” a new initiative to bring immigration-related assistance into local communities, including remote or underserved areas. This initiative aims to break down barriers to accessing immigration services, such as long distances and lack of public transportation to field offices.

b. FY 2026 H-1B Cap Initial Registration Period Opens on March 7

Date: January 20, 2025
The FY 2026 H-1B cap will use the beneficiary-centric selection process launched in FY 2025. Under this process, registrations are selected by unique beneficiary rather than by registration. If enough unique beneficiary registrations are received by March 24, selections will be made, and notifications sent via USCIS online accounts.

c. Update on Form I-134A

Date: January 28, 2025
Due to the January 20, 2025, Executive Order titled “Securing Our Borders,” USCIS is pausing acceptance of Form I-134A, Online Request to be a Supporter and Declaration of Financial Support, until a review of all categorical parole processes is completed as required by the order.
